Bone Density Measurement (DXA Method)

General Information

Almost 1 woman in 3 and 1 man in 5 after the age of 50 will be affected by osteoporosis.  Bone density measurement enables early detection and, through timely therapy, can prevent serious consequences, like fractures.

The DXA Method is the only measurement recognized by the WHO (World Health Organization) and the DGO (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteologie) in the diagnosis of osteoporosis.

The amount of radiation received during the examination is comparable to what every human being receives naturally during the span of a week.

The measurement goes along the lumbar verterbra column and neck of the femur.
