How safe is the examination?

The DXA Method is the only measurement recognized by the WHO (World Health Organization) and the DGO (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteologie) in the diagnosis of osteoporosis.
The amount of radiation received during the examination is comparable to what every human being receives naturally during the span of a week.
Other technical procedures for diagnosis (such as QCT, pQCT, ultrasound) are possible, but these have disadvantages at this time, due to either the higher radiation dosage or a lower reading depending on the places to be measured.
