CT of the Skull

CT scan of the skull will be done when:

• investigating the effects of a stroke
• suspecting hemmorhaging of the brain
• locating skull fractures and brain damage on patients with head injuries
• clarification of changes in bone, skull basin and pars petrosa region
• sinus infections

CT of the Chest Area (Thorax)

Computer tomography is most suitable in the presentation of nearly all illness-related changes in the chest area.

CT of the Stomach Area (Abdomen) and Pelvis

CT scans of the abdomen and the pelvis will be done for:

• diseases of the liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys and adrenal gland
• swollen lymph nodes in the stomach area
• diseases of the bowels
• diseases of the blood vessels

CT of the Blood Vessels (Angiogram, CTA)

The CT Angiogram will generally be used to:

• see the blood flow of the kidney arteries in a patient with high blood pressure, which
   among others can be caused by a tightening of the kidney artery, or by unclear
   functional obstructions.
• recognize changes in arteriosclerosis or diseased enlargement of the main artery and
   its main branches (e.g. tightening of arteries in the pelvis or the carotids, aneurysm of
   the aorta).
