Considerations before the Examination

During the ultrasound examination of the stomach area, the quality of the examination will be significantly affected by gas and bowel content.  In this connection, the assessment of the stomach organs is somewhat limiting. For this reason you should refrain from eating food that produces wind the day before the examination and to remain without food and drink on the day of the examination.  Food consumption leads to the emptying of bile from the gall bladder, whose shrunken state renders it more difficult to assess.

Other body areas (e.g. mammary gland or abdomen cover) are of no concern during an ultrasound examination.
