What other additional examinations are useful?

In most cases an ultrasound examination of the breast or mammogram/sonogram can provide important additional information to the mammography.  The breast is gently examined with a high-frequency boom head (without radiation).

MRI of the Breast (Mammo-MRI)

This is recommended for high-risk patients, women with breast implants, scar tissue forming after any previous operation, unclear mammogram and sonogram results.

Every woman should self-examine her breasts regularly.
